Our talented Chapel Hill students have achieved extraordinary results in their first time entering the Future Problem Solving Program competition!
Under the guidance of coach Ms Louise Kliese, the 16 students began preparing way back in February. After months of hard work, they submitted their entries for adjudication.
In September, the school received the incredible news that three Chapel Hill teams had been selected to attend the National finals in Melbourne in October. They qualified after scoring in the top 10% of their respective programs. This is outstanding, as over 100 teams competed for a place!
In Melbourne, the Chapel Hill teams competed against 12 other primary school teams from around the country, and one Chapel Hill team was crowned the Australian Champions for their Junior Action Plan Presentation. A special congratulations to Imogen, Robert, Jacky, Jayden and Abby!
The students who attended the national finals as reserve team members were mixed in amongst other reserve students from all around the nation and competed in their own special division. Of the three Chapel Hill reserve students, each came back with a medal: a gold, a silver and a bronze. Incredible!
Well done to (left to right) Imogen, Bonnie and Danni for their great work!
Chapel Hill principal, Stewart Jones, said the Future Problem Solving competition was another great opportunity for Chapel Hill kids within, and beyond the classroom. “The students even came to school on the September school holidays to prepare," Mr Jones said. “It's wonderful what we can achieve when students, parents and staff all work together towards a common goal."
