It has been another stellar year for Instrumental Music at Chapel Hill State School, with both Senior Strings and Senior Band groups earning top marks at two major competitions in 2024.
In May this year, both groups achieved 'Platinum' awards at the local round of the state-wide Fanfare competition and were selected to progress to the Metro North Regional Finals. At the Regional Finals in June, and up against seven other very high performing primary school ensembles, both of Chapel Hill's groups were awarded 'Most Outstanding' Awards. This was a magnificent result, and a real credit to both the children and our dedicated teaching staff Mr Edward Kennedy (Band) and Mrs Alice O'Donnell (Strings).
The Chapel Hill kids did it again at the Music Fest competition in October, with both groups achieving Platinum Awards - the highest possible result - from the adjudicators.
Well done to our students, and well done to our highly experienced Instrumental Music teachers!
