At Chapel Hill State School, in accord with Education Queensland policy, formal reporting to parents on their children’s learning occurs 4 times per year – two formally scheduled parent-teacher conferences and two end-of-semester written reports with an option for parent/teacher interviews.
These conferences provide the opportunity for a face-to-face meeting and a positive two-way conversation on each child’s educational progress. The discussion will typically be based around samples of student work in order to demonstrate what the student has achieved so far this term, areas for development, goals for the term ahead and strategies to achieve these goals. As these interviews are limited to 15 minutes, parents may want to note and prioritise their discussion points beforehand to gain the most profitable outcome.
A formal written report on student achievement in each subject, plus a general comment and a comment on attitude and behaviour, will be provided at the end of the semester.
In 2025, the reporting schedule will be as follows:
Term 1: Parent/Teacher Conference (15 minutes)
Term 2: Formal end of semester report - Teacher interview by request
Term 3: Parent/Teacher Conference (15 minutes)
Term 4: Formal end of semester report - Teacher interview by request
Due to planning, preparation and meetings held before and after school hours, parents will need to consider available teacher timeslots in order to determine a suitable timeslot. This year, we are again using an online booking system.
