Year 5 NAPLAN 2026 – BYOD Device Requirements

As we prepare for the upcoming NAPLAN testing period, all Year 5 students who use a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) laptop at school are required to install the 2026 NAPLAN Locked Down Browser on their device.

The Locked Down Browser enables students to securely complete NAPLAN and NAP Sample tests on the Online National Assessment Platform. The application regulates access to system functions, prevents application switching, and blocks unauthorised device resources during assessments.

This is a free application and must be installed on all BYOD and school-based devices prior to testing.

Installation Requirements (To Be Completed at Home)

Students using a BYOD device must complete the following steps:

  1. Ensure the student user account has local administrator access on the device.

  2. Run Windows Update, install all pending updates, and restart the device.
(This must be completed prior to installing the browser.)

  3. Download the 2026 NAPLAN Locked Down Browser using the link below:
    https://tinyurl.com/0456nap26

  4. Install the browser and confirm the installation completes without errors.

Headphones Required

All students will require wired headphones for the NAPLAN tests.

Important Deadline

Please complete the installation process by Monday 23rd February.

We strongly encourage families to complete this as soon as possible to ensure devices are ready for testing and to allow time to resolve any technical issues prior to the NAPLAN assessment period.

If you experience any difficulties with installation, please contact the school by replying to the original email for assistance.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us prepare for NAPLAN.
